I played this with my Dad all the time growing up, man. It was awesome! He was such an outdoors guy, loved hunting, fishing, sports, etc. and I grew up disabled and was a bit of a shut-in. I was a band kid, I didn't play sports, I wouldn't have been allowed even if I wanted to. Especially the big three - Football, Basketball, Baseball. I didn't hate sports, but I was more into like... 9-ball, and bowling. Mario Golf 64 was just about the only thing we ever actually bonded over. Pro Tip 1 - During your swing, you tap the A button first for DISTANCE, and then again on the way back for ACCURACY. "Whiffed it!" Means you hit your second tap outside of that red bar underneath it... it's like missing the ball entirely. Pro Tip 2 - To the left, there is an icon of a golf ball with a red dot in the center. During that swing animation, you can use the stick to adjust the kind of spin you want to put on the ball, it's very much like putting English on the ball in Billiards (top spin, back spin, etc).
